UJAMAA was the lead General Contractor in an UJAMAA/Power Construction Joint Venture for the construction of a three-story Mariano’s Fresh Market in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. The structure includes integrated parking and consists of 40,000sf of architectural precast concrete panels. 

The internally insulated panels are load-bearing and clad with a brick finish. The structural system is comprised of precast columns and 122,200sf of precast structural “T’s” to form the horizontal parking deck. The UJAMAA project team incorporated an aggressive MBE/WBE and local contractor hiring program which maximized diversity and community impact for the neighborhood.
