Project Description
The UCMC Billings Autopsy Renovation project involved the removal and replacement of an existing autopsy table with a new table, as well as electrical and tele/data infrastructure upgrades. The project is located in the Billings Hospital Building in the lower level at 950 East 59th Street, Chicago, IL 60637.
The scopes of work included in this project were demolition, steel casework, millwork, carpentry, ceramic tile, HVAC mechanical, plumbing, and electrical renovation work.
With the completion of this project, the end-user now has a new table that doubles the end user’s capacity. In addition, the end-user now has the ability to work electronically with the addition of the tele/data infrastructure now servicing the space.
UJAMAA was selected by Fixtur-World Inc. to provide the renovation services at the Food Services facility within the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) on the University of Chicago Medical Center campus.
The DCAM scope encompassed the renovation of the existing 9,350 SF Food Service operations and the removal l of ex is ting equipment and food lines. Select demolition allowed for the installation and construction of new walls, finishes, and millwork. All appropriate negative pressure dust barriers with HEPA filters were used to ensure that no dust escaped into the medical building.
The construction professionals at UJAMAA self-performed the demolition, rough and finish carpentry.
